Twenty Millfield hockey players travelled to Chandigarh, India for their annual tour this December.

The group trained with the Punjab Institute of Sport staff and players and competed in seven fixtures. The travelling squad were a development side consisting of 1XI, 2XI and U16 players who played against Punjab Academy U19, U17 and U15 teams.

Coach Shaun Matthews said: “This was one of the most rewarding Millfield Hockey tours to date. The standard was incredible and the boys learned so much about themselves on and off the field. What they boys created, what they learned and how they developed as players and as a team was second to none. Progress and performance targets were exceeded.”

Away from their matches, the group ventured into the Himalayan foothills to a school in the mountains, experienced the hustle and bustle of market life, and visit the Taj Mahal before returning to England.
